The Tamar Bridge (1962) runs between the city of Plymouth in Devon and the town of Saltash in Cornwall, over the River Tamar. It is over 300 m in length and runs adjacent to Brunel's Royal Albert Memorial Bridge (left), which carries the railroad. It is a major landmark in the local area and has beautiful views up the Tamar Valley and out into the Plymouth Sound.
Any funded Ph.D studentships or postdoctoral Research Fellowships in my Laboratory will be listed on the University of Plymouth "Job Vacancies" webpage as well as on jobs.ac.uk. Please do not email me about working for me as a postdoc unless it is about either an advertised post OR you carry a personal funding package. I receive a large number of such emails and obviously if I had the money to employ someone, a post would be advertised - I now get so many of these emails that I cannot always respond to them.
If you are a Ph.D-holding researcher and you hold or wish to apply for a Personal Fellowship in my Laboratory, please get in touch using the email link at the foot of each page, enclosing your full CV and the details of the funding you hold or wish to apply for. I do normally wish to meet anyone who wants to apply for a Personal Fellowship sponsored by me, so please keep this in mind.
If you are an undergraduate student or recent graduate and you hold or wish to apply for a Ph.D Studentship sponsored by industry or your government, again, please get in touch as outlined above, enclosing your full CV and the details of the funding. You will also need to make a formal application to undertake a Ph.D at the University and meeting the institutional requires for this, the English Language requirements and any UK Border Agency considerations are the candidate's responsibility and I cannot assist or advise in these areas.
If you are a Principal Investigator and you wish to send a Ph.D Student or Research Fellow to spend time in my Laboratory, please get in touch as outlined above with the full details of the project, your proposed timings and details of the funding you intend to apply for. Owing to institutional requirements, it does take time to make an application, and there is also a limit to when a student can be based here. The January to April point in the year is generally the best for me.
